This antique box is sterling.  The patina is much prettier than the photo.  The top of the box has two cherubs and a bird.  The scene is framed with a scroll pattern.  A pattern of flowers, grapes, scrolls and fleur de-lis wrap around the edge of the box.  The clasp holds secure.  This box is European in origin and has English hallmarks of the bottom of the box.  This antique box measures 2 inches across and is 1/2 inch deep.  Ca. 1880.  It is in perfect and original condition.  It would make a wonderful pill box or would be perfect for a ring.  $275.
