I believe this antique box is French.  It is very ornate.  It is sterling and enamel.  The sterling has a gold wash and is engraved with an intricate design.  The top of the box has green enamel.  The green is a very deep and beautiful shade of green, much prettier than the photo.  The carved design on the top of the box has Neptune, dolphins and scrolls.  This box is in perfect condition.  The clasp holds secure.  It is 2 1/4 x 3 inches and is 1/2 inch deep.  Ca. 1880.  $425.
